Getting There :

Gambia is less than six hours flying time from the UK and surprisingly in the same time zone. That means you can be fishing the tropical waters of the Atlantic Ocean for game fish, on the same day you leave the house. There are also no problems with jet lag associated with other fishing destinations like Florida, Mexico, or Kenya.

Birding and Fishing is our business not travel,  therefore we would much prefer if you could arrange your own flights. On the internet there are several flight only specialists that will get you to Gambia from a variety of UK airports. We have listed the best of these below.

If you are flexible regarding dates then expect to pick up a return flight for less than £300 for either one or two weeks. Also consider searching for flight and hotel packages, sometimes they can be cheaper than flight only. If you choose this option then we will be able to discount our price by the cost of the accommodation. As we said before we are not travel agents or tour operators we just do great fishing and birding safaris.

When searching these sites the Airport is Banjul / Gambia, there is only the one in the country sometimes it is referred to as Banjul Yundum.

Thomas Cook:

From November through to April they offer probably the best value in flight only, as well as departures from Gatwick, Manchester, East Midlands, Bristol, Birmingham. They also trade as Fly Thomas Cook. When you book flight only meals are not included and come as an extra. Quite frankly they are not worth the money so take some sandwiches or a salad box.

The Gambia Experience

They offer package holidays and flight only, although unlike Thomas Cook they do not have their own aircraft and charter flights from several different airlines. On the bonus side they operate all year and offer some good last minute deals for hotel and flight inclusive. On the down side they are expensive for flight only, when they have the monopoly of service from May to October.
